Upcoming activities of interest to industry

Dear reader,

BioExcel continuous working actively on supporting and strengthening the links with industrial researchers. Here are several highlights that might be of interest to you.

Webinars

Recently, BiKi Technology presented several methods and tools for optimized CADD, which you might find interesting and useful in your work. Another example of the quality of our applications was the successful early hit optimization done by Novartis using HADDOCK among other tools.

Coming up next week on the 13th June is a presentation by BioExcel's collaborators from the Pistoia Alliance's AbVance project. It will provide an overview of the use and value of antibody structures on therapeutic projects and how precise modelling can provide early impact. As usual, the webinar will include a Q&A session during which you can comment and discuss directly the topic with the presenters. Hurry up and register here.

You can find more about our previous webinars are https://bioexcel.eu/webinars.

Events

Basel is hosting the 2018 edition of the PASC conference. It is a great venue for computational scientists in all domains including Life Sciences. BioExcel is running a dedicated mini-symposium on "Advances and Automation for the Exascale Era" together with our partners from MolSSI. If you are coming to the conference, make sure to join us or drop by our exhibition booth.

Another important event is the BioExcel 2nd SIG Meeting: “Advanced Simulations for Biomolecular Research” during ECCB 2018. We have a great lineup of speakers including a keynote by Jean-Pierre Changeux and presentations by NovoNordisk, Janssen and GSK representatives. Hurry up and send of your abstract for a poster. Some of them will be selected for flash talk presentations.

Site visits

BioExcel has begun series of site visits to pharma companies to share expertise and understand the needs of users. Find out more about our visit at Janssen's site in Belgium.

Webinar: High-Confidence Protein−Ligand Complex Modeling by NMR Guided Docking Enables Early Hit Optimization (2018-05-10)
BioExcel’s webinar series continue with a presentation by Andrew Proudfoot, Novartis Register Abstract Structure-based drug design is routinely used in modern day drug discovery. However, the success of this process is very much dependent upon the ability to generate protein-ligand co-structures.  While NMR and EM can be used to obtain these structures, such techniques can often be labor intensive …
