EMBL-EBI are currently recruiting for a Scientific Project Officer to work on the social media and communication aspects of European projects. The successful applicant will work 50% of the time on BioExcel, so you’ll be joining our team!
The EMBL-EBI Training team is looking for an enthusiastic science communicator to contribute to the team’s European training projects. This role will focus on communication, social media presence, as well as event and project management support. You will primarily work on the following EU-funded projects: BioExcel CoE and CORBEL. This position is an excellent opportunity to further develop your science communication skills and gain social media experience in an international setting. The training team is part of the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) which is located on the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK.
The post-holder is likely to be a life-science graduate (or graduate from another scientific, technical or engineering discipline) with a keen interest in, and some experience of, science communication. You might, for example, have an undergraduate degree in a scientific subject and a Master’s degree in science communication. A higher qualification such as a PhD would be an asset but is not essential.
